Being a primary school teacher in this modern age is quite a task. All of these kids have access to the internet at home. All their rhymes and songs are played for them on YouTube and other platforms online. It’s only a matter of time before nursery rhymes start getting streamed on Spotify. It is quite an undertaking trying to keep up the interest of these young kids without having internet around to keep them up and running. Therefore I decided to bring the connectivity to the classroom right from the router in the hallway.
The only way I could do that was by using a wireless extender or repeater. This would allow me to place the device in my classroom and take the network of that scanty ranged router in the hallways and extend the connectivity to my classroom where I could teach my students with integrated technology. Seemed like a great idea to me. Therefore I went ahead and got myself the TP-Link re200 setup and brought it to my classroom to set it up. I did not have any problem in setting it up as it was quite easy and simple and also there were almost negligible cases of the TP-Link re200 not working.
Setting up the Tplink re200 extender for my class
The extender was easy to understand and use. The setup was quite simple too. All I needed to do was to plug it into a power source and then connect it to my computer using a wired or a wireless connection. I found the wireless connection more convenient. I then opened up my browser and then typed in the IP address of my extender into the address bar in order to access the setup link. You can also search for tplinkrepeater.net setup. After that, I got redirected to the login page.
Login
To log in I used the default credentials as the device was being used for the first time and I hadn’t personalized the credentials in any way. After logging in I could see the admin panel. Here I entered all the information pertaining to my router in an accurate way in order to allow the extender to connect to the router with the scanty range. After getting a connection the extender automatically started relaying the network into the classroom and we were all blessed with the internet.
Tplink re200 setup
There was another way in which I could’ve done the setup and that was the WPS method. This is a wireless way of doing it and doesn’t require anyone to manually enter the details of any device. I just had to press the WPS button present on the router followed by the WPS button present on the extender. After doing that the secure connection procedure will begin and get the devices connected in no time. After that, I only have to change the place of the extender to another socket to get better connectivity and I am done. That is how simple the setup of the device actually is.

Resetting your device and upgrading its firmware regularly – the importance
You may have plenty of reasons to have decided to reset your device back to its factory settings. You can do the TP-Link re200 reset by pressing and holding the reset button on the device for a few seconds. This will trigger the reset procedure and will be completed in a matter of seconds. After that, the device will be ready to be programmed all over again. You can also do it by using the offline setup link. There is an option called the reset to factory settings in the menu which you can click to have the same effect on it.
Firmware Update
Talking about the Tplink re200 firmware update, it is also quite simple and easy to complete. All you need to do is go to the setup link and find the check for firmware updates option on the menu. Once you click on it, it will show you a list of the available updates. Then you can choose to click and download and install them instantly or even ignore them for later. It is always better that you download and install the updates whenever available to get the best performance
